Penny's Page

Penny is a New Year's Day puppy, born January 1, 2009. She was the last puppy delivered in a litter of 11, born hours after we thought Aurie had finished whelping, and we wondered at first if she would survive. We quickly learned that Penny is a fighter; within 30 minutes of her birth she was so full of milk that she looked like she had swallowed a ping pong ball! Soon she was out in front of the pack, leading the rest of the puppies to new adventures. She is very friendly with other dogs and people, especially children, and loves to greet everyone and give them kisses.

Penny is showing in conformation classes with her sister Sassy, and has won the puppy class a few times. Penny has also been shown in Brace class with her mother Aurie. Penny completed Beginner Obedience and is now enrolled in Intermediate Obedience, but she loves Agility class the most!

Penny began working by carting and sledding with our team in Fall of 2009. She really loves to run and has earned her WTD (Working Team Dog) title in January 2010, earning two of the legs at the 2010 CrowDitarod weekend here at WinterStar Farm. She has steadily gained confidence running with the older dogs, and runs well in any position on the hitch. She is so friendly that we have also been able to lend her to other people and have her run with their teams! Penny is a joy to own and we look forward to a lot of good times with her!
